“When Gary Heflin was buying hats for D&D Farm and Ranch in Seguin, Texas, he asked me why somebody hadn’t made a baby hat. I thought to myself, it’s probably because they couldn’t sell them if they made them. Sometime later, I reconsidered and made a small children’s hat out of a palm leaf with the same ruggedness as the adult hats. We took it to the Denver Market, and it was a hit!
Since that time, we have added a black and a pink pinto palm leaf, a children’s black wool, a bangora, a burnt palm leaf and our latest, a white and solid pink LC Hereford canvas. Gone are the days of paper children’s hats!”
