“Once we got the quality of our palm leaf hats to where it should be, it was time to think of diversifying – straw hats were the logical choice.

We built a separate plant to make straw hats in and we had a stand-out palm leaf hatmaker that was chosen to make our straws. Since palm leaf and straws are not made by the same process, top notch straw hatmakers were brought in as consultants and our crew learned the new process fast…And soon, our hats were better than some of the consultant’s hats. Today, we are making premium straws that will hold their own with any hat in the industry.”
